Harley-Davidson presents its new models 2023

For 120 years, Harley-Davidson has been manufacturing the most sought-after motorcycles. The company is now ringing in its anniversary year with the unveiling of its motorcycle program for 2023. This includes the CVO Road Glide Limited Anniversary and six other limited edition models that score with exclusive 120th Anniversary paint schemes and 120th Anniversary features. The portfolio also includes the comprehensively model-maintained Breakout performance cruiser, the new Nightster Special and the trike named Freewheeler, which is bathed in deep black.

The complete model lineup, genuine Harley-Davidson accessories and Harley-Davidson MotorClothes collections are now available at Harley-Davidson.com and available at authorized Harley-Davidson dealers.

"Since 1903, Harley-Davidson has pioneered the design, technology and performance of American motorcycles. Today marks the beginning of our brand's 120th anniversary celebration, which will continue throughout the year," explained Jochen Zeitz, chairman, president and CEO of Harley-Davidson. "We can't wait to unveil the first H-D bikes of 2023 - with more new products to follow throughout the year. 2023 will be a memorable milestone for our company, and this year we will celebrate what Harley-Davidson is all about: its history, culture and community. We would love for you to join us on this journey."

The 120th Anniversary Models
With one of the most elaborate paint jobs ever offered by the company, the strictly limited CVO Road Glide Limited Anniversary celebrates 120 years of Harley-Davidson-style craftsmanship. Layers of Heirloom Red are applied to a black basecoat and embellished with bright red pinstripes and hand-applied gold-tone ornamentation. Discreetly incorporated into the painted surfaces, the viewer recognizes the head and wings of a soaring eagle. The gold-tone tank medallion showcases an iconic Harley-Davidson design element: an Art Deco-style eagle. Other features of the machine include Alcantara seating surfaces trimmed with gold and red contrast stitching, gold inserts on the engine, and bright red elements on the rocker boxes and pushrod covers.
Only 1,500 examples of this exceptional machine will be produced for worldwide sale, and each one is laser engraved with a number on the fuel tank console.

For six other limited-edition anniversary models, the Motor Company is offering a different 120th Anniversary paint scheme, with color and finish inspired by early Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The base paint of each model is classic, glossy Heirloom Red. It is complemented by darker, shaded-effect Midnight Crimson and trimmed with bright red pinstripes. The tank logo presents an Art Deco-style eagle, the seats are colored red on the flanks as well as an embroidered gold Harley-Davidson logo, and the drivetrain is adorned with Red Fade inserts.

The following machines are available with the anniversary insignia:

  • Ultra Limited Anniversary (limited to 1,300 units)
  • Tri Glide Ultra Anniversary (limited to 1,100 units)
  • Street Glide Anniversary (limited to 1,600 units)
  • Road Glide Anniversary (limited to 1,600 units)
  • Fat Boy Anniversary (limited to 3,000 units)
  • Heritage Classic Anniversary (limited to 1,700 units)

The Breakout has undergone extensive model maintenance
For the 2023 model year, Harley-Davidson is breathing even more power into the Breakout and giving it new, shiny chrome styling. The engine is now powered by a Milwaukee Eight 117, the largest displacement big twin that Harley-Davidson offers in production models, for superior performance.

The other new features of the Breakout:

  • The new 18.9-liter fuel tank with a low-profile chrome console increases the range and makes the bike's silhouette even more attractive.
  • The new handlebar riser positions the polished stainless steel handlebar about 1.9 centimeters higher than the previous model, allowing the driver to reach it even better.
  • The fender struts, side covers, exhaust tips, turn signals, mirrors and Heavy Breather air cleaner have been given a bright chrome finish, and the new 26-spoke cast aluminum wheels are finished in gloss black with bright-turned areas.

With its classic chopper silhouette, the Breakout now more than ever offers a perfect synthesis of style and performance. Its Harley-Davidson Softail chassis retains the classic hardtail line with its hidden shock, without sacrificing a thoroughly modern ride and light handling.

Cruise Control and Traction Control
In 2023, Cruise Control will also be part of the Fat Boy, Fat Bob, Breakout and Low
Rider S as standard equipment. On the Low Rider ST, the Heritage Classic and the Sport Glide, the electronic cruise control system naturally remains standard.

Electronic traction control will be offered as a new option for the Breakout, Low Rider S and Low Rider ST models from the summer. It prevents the rear wheel from spinning when accelerating. If desired, the driver can deactivate it by pressing a button on the handlebars.

The new Nightster Special
Numerous stylish, comfortable and technologically sophisticated features characterize the new Nightster Special. Its liquid-cooled Revolution Max 975T, designed to deliver high torque at low revs, ensures impressive riding performance. To minimize the weight of the motorcycle, the V-twin was designed as a supporting element of the chassis.

The most important features of the new Nightster Special:

  • Passenger seat and footrests allow rides for two.
  • New cast alloy wheels with tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) provide even more style and comfort.
  • The handlebars on five-inch risers shift the grips upward by about two centimeters and backward by about 2.5 centimeters, giving the rider an even more comfortable seating position on the bike.
  • A 12.7-centimeter round TFT display provides information on all essential vehicle and infotainment functions, which can be called up using buttons on the handlebar dashboard.
    • The display supports infotainment information generated by a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone. Several infotainment functions require an optional Bluetooth headset worn in the helmet.
    • Using voice commands, the driver can receive calls on his cell phone via the headset or make calls himself.
    • The navigation function takes place via the Harley-Davidson app for iOS and Android, which is loaded onto a cell phone. When navigation is activated, the rider has the choice of a moving map display or turn arrows on the screen, while audio instructions are given via the headset.
  • Premium brake components from Brembo ensure excellent braking feel and performance that the driver can rely on at all times. At the front wheel, a 320-millimeter brake disc works with a four-piston caliper. A single-piston floating caliper and a 260-millimeter brake disc have been installed on the rear wheel.
  • 11.7 liters of fuel are stored in a tank under the seat, which optimizes the machine's center of gravity. The arrangement contributes to first-class handling and facilitates lifting from the side stand. To refuel, simply fold up the driver's seat.
  • Apart from the Road, Sport and Rain driving modes, the driver can freely define two other modes.
  • Rider Safety Enhancements include ABS, traction control and traction control.
  • The lighting was completely implemented in LED technology.
  • Cruise control and a USB charging port for mobile devices are standard.

The trike Freewheeler is dipped in black
The cruiser-inspired Freewheeler trike gets a new look for 2023, bathed in deep black. On the front end, headlight housing, fuel tank console, hand and foot levers, engine and exhaust system, black-coated components replace the silver or chrome ones used to date.

New, glossy black cast alloy spoke wheels with exposed lug nuts on the rear wheels also add performance style. At the rear, two 18-inch wheels replace the 15-inch examples previously used. The result is a completely new look that sharpens the machine's appearance and underscores its pure hot rod look.

The main features of the Freewheeler:

  • The Milwaukee-Eight 114 provides impressive power.
  • The electric reversing aid makes backing up easier.
  • The mini Ape handlebars ensure a seating position with a high coolness factor.
  • Classic custom bobtail fenders at the rear emphasize the style.
  • Weatherproof trunk with a capacity of nearly 60 liters and top-hinged door for easy loading.
  • Stylishly designed exhaust system with two rear mufflers.
  • Trike-specific Rider Safety Enhancements: cornering-optimized electronic brake force distribution, cornering anti-lock braking system, cornering traction control and traction control.
