Peter Hostettler, Managing Director YAMAHA Motor Switzerland, comments on the currency situation as follows: "We already imported the majority of our new vehicles into Switzerland at the end of last year and paid for them at an exchange rate of around EUR 1.20. We are very pleased with this. As of mid-January, together with our distribution partners, we already had around 6,000 units of new 2015 model year motorcycles and scooters in stock. That is around 60 percent of annual sales. Our €xtra bonus is a flexible instrument for responding to the fall in the euro exchange rate. If the euro exchange rate rises again to a certain level, we will adjust our €xtra bonus downward accordingly or cancel it altogether. The losses in value suffered on our stock vehicles are painful and will impact our sales revenue. However, we have accepted the challenge and are now responding consistently and strongly so that our customers can continue to benefit from our attractive price/performance ratio. We thank all interested parties and buyers for continuing to place their trust in the Swiss motorcycle trade."
