In mid-June, music and festival fans can look forward to an absolute highlight. Rock the Ring" will once again take place in Hinwil, Zurich. Over three days, stars and rock legends will do the honors and heat up the audience in attendance.
Nothing stands in the way of the 7th edition of the rock festival in the Zurich Oberland. In a few days you can finally rock out again in Hinwil. Our line-up with Alice Cooper, Foreigner and The Hives includes international and national world stars and offers rock music for every taste. From hard rock and stoner rock to heavy metal and shock rock, everything is represented. After the line-up was completed in mid-March with the US hard rock band Ugly Kid Joe, the official timetable of Rock the Ring is now fixed.
The Hives on Thursday as closing act
After a two-year forced break from Corona, the gates to the festival grounds on the Betzholz freeway traffic circle in Hinwil will be opened again for the first time on Friday, June 16 at 5 pm. This year's Rock the Ring will be opened by the hard rock band Thunder. After that, Steel Panther, followed by the Australian superstars Airbourne, will make the stage shake with proper glam metal and hard rock. The Swedish quintet The Hives provides the crowning finale on the first day of the festival. They are not only known for their songs like "Hate To Say I Told You So", but also for their performances in tailored suits in black and white.
Friday with Foreigner, Night Ranger and Co.
Also on Friday Rock the Ring shows its best side with its open air festival. The US hard rockers Ugly Kid Joe provide a "hard" start on Friday, followed by their compatriots Night Ranger. It continues with the British post-grunge rock band Bush around frontman Gavin Rossdale and a spectacular performance by headliner Foreigner. At the latest with world hits like "I Want To Know What Love Is" and "Cold As Ice" no festival visitor should stand still. The second day of the festival will be closed by the Swiss dialect rock band Megawatt, who will really electrify the visitors before they head home. All those who don't want to drive home right after the last act can continue rocking out until 2:00 a.m. on every festival evening at the aftershow.
Alice Cooper and Storace to close on Saturday
On the last day of the festival, Saturday, June 18, things will get really loud again in Hinwil. The first song of the evening belongs to the newcomers from Dirty Honey, who provide a breath of fresh air on stage with their songs from classic and blues rock. Afterwards follows the band ACCEPT - the German figurehead of Heavy Metal, which could also celebrate numerous international successes. ACCEPT will be followed by another heavy metal figurehead: Black Label Society, who will get the audience going. No less loud - and certainly spectacular - will be the second last performance of the evening: shock rocker Alice Cooper will put all rock lovers into ecstasy with his bizarre stage show, creepy effects and lots of fake blood. The festival finale belongs to the local act Storace, the new band project of Marc Storace, the voice of KROKUS - a crowning conclusion of our Rock the Ring 2022.
